Seemed a wealthy horse breeder across the line in Virginia had picked his finest horse as a gift to his bride to be, only to have it stolen. He set off in chase of the thief and found the horse`s bridle by a creek. At another creek, he found the saddle. And at a third creek he came upon his abandoned horse, peacefully grazing. Jamie wanted to know what happened to the thief. Was there still another nearby creek named String`em Up? Her mother didn`t know.
She thinks that may have been been the cause of her lifetime interest in North Carolina`s intriguingly named places.
